Socialists Workers Party al… by The Instigator
It’s not every day that the Socialist Workers Party agrees with Republicans.
But when it comes to donor disclosure, they’re largely on the same page.
While the call for politically active corporations and nonprofits to disclose donors got louder during the 2012 campaign, the Federal Election Commission on Thursday decided to let federal committees affiliated with the Socialist Workers Party and the Socialist Workers National Campaign Committee continue to keep their donors secret.
The reason: revealing the identity of the donors could lead to possible intimidation and harassment of socialist supporters.
That’s the same argument that conservative organizations and lawmakers have used in recent years to oppose tightening campaign finance disclosure laws. In their case, it’s mostly to protect big donors from criticism and protest.
Donors like Sheldon Adelson, Foster Freiss and the Koch brothers became household names last year after their contributions to conservative candidates and causes. Financier George Soros similarly achieved notoriety for his big money gifts to liberal causes in past years.
Steve Clark, chairman of the Socialist Workers Party, said the disclosure issue doesn’t matter here.
“We are not advocates of financial disclosure. That’s not the problem in this country,” Clark told POLITICO.

Judge: Firing teacher who c… by The Instigator
In 2010, high school science teacher Robert Haye was dismissed from his position at Deptford Green School after he responded to questions from high school students aged 15-16 by saying that homosexual activity is a “sin.”
Teaching authorities subsequently banned him “indefinitely” from teaching at any high school in the country, a ban that was later endorsed by Education Secretary Michael Gove.
Robert Haye faces discrimination in the UK.A London High Court rejected Haye’s appeal, saying that his comments were “inappropriate” and that he was guilty of unacceptable professional conduct, the campaign group Christian Concern reported, noting that this is the first case of its kind.
Haye, a Seventh Day Adventist, also reportedly told students that it those Christians who worship on Sundays are “basically worshipping the devil.”
Haye cannot apply to return to the classroom for two years.
In his judgment, Mr. Justice King said that teachers must present positive information on homosexuality “to enable students to challenge derogatory stereotypes and prejudice,” and that this policy reflected “modern British values of tolerance.” He said Haye’s appeal was “misconceived and must fail.”
Robert Ogilvy, Haye’s representative in court, said that the ban is “fundamentally unreasonable, unfair and disproportionate” and violated his client’s freedom of speech and religion.

Now Congress Wants to Exemp… by The Instigator
No argument for Obamacare’s repeal can top the simple fact that Members of Congress do not want it to apply to them.
Today’s Politico reports that the House and Senate congressional leadership—both Democrats and Republicans working in cahoots with Obama Administration officials—have been secretly negotiating for months trying to find a way to exempt Members of Congress and their staffs from being forced into Obamacare’s health insurance exchanges.
Beginning on January 1, 2014, these exchanges, to be run by the federal government or the states (under federal rules) will offer federally “qualified” insurance coverage for millions of Americans. Ordinary Americans must either sign up or face a tax penalty. Senator Max Baucus (D–MT), chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, has now famously described the Obama’s Administration’s implementation of this process as an oncoming “train wreck,” and Henry Chao, an Administration official involved with the implementation of the law, just hopes that Americans can avoid a “third-world experience.”

Homosexual Terrorist Says H… by The Instigator
Surprisingly bloated homosexual terrorist Floyd Corkins
Domestic terrorist Floyd Corkins told the FBI that he found the Family Research Council as a target because they were listed online as an “anti-gay” group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
Corkins walked into the FRC’s Washington, D.C., headquarters last Aug. 15, carrying a pistol, 100 rounds of ammunition and knapsack filled with 15 Chick-fil-A sandwiches. He later admitted that he intended “to kill people in the building and then smear a Chick-fil-A sandwich in their face.”
He was stopped by FRC buildings operations manager Leo Johnson.

New York Times Battered By … by The Instigator
New York Times Co reported a decline in quarterly revenue on weak advertising sales but said it would try to grow out of the slump by expanding its suite of digital products.
The 11.2 percent drop in advertising revenue in the first quarter underscores the pressure that the New York Times faces to increase its subscription revenue, especially for its digital products, and find new veins of income.
The company plans to roll out a line of lower-priced products – including an expansion into e-commerce and games – to attract more readers around the world.
“We want to deepen our relationship with our existing loyal customers, but we also want to use a wider family of New York Times products to reach new customers both here and around the world,” Chief Executive Officer Mark Thompson said in a statement.
Paid subscriptions to digital products at the company’s namesake paper and The Boston Globe totaled 708,000 in the first quarter, a 45 percent increase from a year earlier.
Still, the growth in subscriptions slowed compared to the prior quarter. Paid digital subscriptions were up 6 percent in the first quarter from the fourth quarter, after growing 13 percent in the fourth quarter from the third.

Lesbian High School Teacher… by The Instigator
A Riverton High School math teacher and coach of the sophomore girls’ basketball team has been arrested and charged with raping a student.
Courtney Louise Jarrell, 22, was charged Friday in 3rd District Court with object rape, a first-degree felony, and forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony.
Jarrell, who had been on administrative leave since the allegations were brought up about a month ago, also submitted her resignation from the school on Friday, said Jordan School District spokeswoman Sandy Riesgraf.
Jarell’s attorney said she resigned in order to focus on her defense, and that she intends to enter a not guilty plea.
Between February and March of this year, Jarrell had illegal sexual activity with a 17-year-old girl who attends the school, according to charging documents. Prosecutors say the activity happened at Jarrell’s house.

White House: Clinton’s R… by The Instigator
The White House dismissed the signature of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on documents ignoring security concerns in Benghazi, calling it “protocol” for government official “signatures” to appear on documents they did not sign.
“It is standard protocol that cables originating from the department in Washington go out under the authority of the current Secretary of State with their signature, i.e. their name, typed at the bottom,” White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Wednesday, using his fingers for quote marks when he said “signature.” He continued. “This practice has been in place throughout this administration and across prior administrations, both Democratic and Republican.”
A report by five House committees released Tuesday found that Senior State Department officials, including Clinton, approved reductions in security at the facilities in Benghazi, Libya. The report cites an April 19, 2012, cable bearing Clinton’s signature acknowledging a March 28, 2012, request from then-U.S. Ambassador to Libya Gene Cretz for more security, yet allowing further reductions.

Obama asks Supreme Court to… by The Instigator
Setting the stage for a constitutional showdown, the Obama administration on Thursday urged the Supreme Court to rule that presidents have broad authority to make certain appointments without Senate approval.
If the nine justices agree to hear the dispute over appointments President Barack Obama made to the National Labor Relations Board last year, it will be one of the biggest issues before the court in its next term, which will begin in October and end in June 2014.
In January the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit ruled that three appointments to the panel, which normally has five members, were invalid.
The appeals court agreed with Noel Canning, the bottling company that challenged Obama’s move, in finding that the president did not have the authority to make the NLRB appointments because the Senate was not technically in recess at the time.

House chairman to take piec… by The Instigator
House Republicans will take on the immigration issue in bite-size pieces, shunning pressure to act quickly and rejecting the comprehensive approach embraced in the Senate, a key committee chairman said Thursday.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., declined to commit to finishing immigration legislation this year, as President Barack Obama and a bipartisan group in the Senate want to do. He said bills on an agriculture worker program and workplace enforcement would come first, and he said there’d been no decision on how to deal with legalization or a possible path to citizenship for the estimated 11 million immigrants living here illegally, a centerpiece of a new bipartisan bill in the Senate.
“It is not whether you do it fast or slow, it is that you get it right that’s most important,” Goodlatte said at a press conference to announce the way forward on immigration in the House.
He said that while he hopes to produce a bill this year, “I’m going to be very cautious about setting any kind of arbitrary limits on when this has to be done.”
The approach Goodlatte sketched out was not a surprise, but it was a sign of the obstacles ahead of congressional passage of the kind of far-reaching immigration legislation sought by Obama and introduced last week in the Senate by four Republican and four Democratic lawmakers. Many in the conservative-led House don’t have the appetite for a single, big bill on immigration, especially not one that contains a path to citizenship, still viewed by some as amnesty. Instead they prefer to coalesce around consensus issues like border security, temporary workers and workplace enforcement.
