Retired Home Depot co-founder Bernie Marcus declared to Newsmax TV in an exclusive interview that “Obamacare is going to kill off small business.”

“If [employees] are thrown out of their medical plans now, where they’re covered in a good plan and thrown under the bus, they’re going to be destroyed,” Marcus said on Thursday. “If, in fact, they don’t stay as full-time employees but go to part-time employees, they’re going to be destroyed.

He talked to Newsmax at the Job Creators Alliance Free Enterprise Leadership Summit in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

“People have to understand that the villain is not their employer; the villain is the U.S. government,” Marcus added. “Obamacare is the capper. That’s the bullet to the temple.”

Marcus, who retired from Home Depot in 2002, established the Job Creators Alliance two years ago. The nonprofit group seeks to advocate for entrepreneurs and small-business owners.

Michigan Republican National Committeeman Dave Agema, who caused a stir last month when he posted an article to his Facebook page that labeled the homosexual lifestyle as “filthy,” is now comparing homosexuality to alcoholism and says it leads to drug abuse.

Appearing on Family Research Council head Tony Perkins’s radio show Wednesday, Agema stressed that he doesn’t hate gay people, but that the religious community has an obligation to educate them about the hazards of their lifestyle.

“We want you to know the facts of what’s going to happen to you if you stay in this lifestyle,” Agema said. “And study after study after study talks about all the diseases you get, how it just gets you into drugs, it gets you into all these other things that you don’t want to be in. So if you really love someone, if you really are concerned about someone, if you saw your friend for example dying of alcoholism, would you just stand quietly by and watch it happen?”

Rubio in 2010: I’ll never support amnesty (Video)

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., one of a handful of names being offered as a potential GOP candidate for the White House in 2016, is working on an immigration reform plan that critics say may include some sort of offer of legitimacy for those who already have broken U.S. laws and are inside its borders illegally.

Or amnesty.

But in a little seen video filmed during his Senate campaign, Rubio claimed, “I will never support –never have and never will support – any effort to grant blanket, legalization, amnesty to folks who have entered or stayed in this country illegally.”

He also said, “I’m strongly against amnesty for a number of reasons. …The most important thing we need to do is enforce our existing laws. Nothing will make it harder to enforce existing laws” than to grant amnesty.

These and other remarks by Rubio are coming to light as Congress takes up the issue, creating questions about his position as he plays a role in the Senate’s “Gang of Eight” that has announced an attempt to produce an immigration proposal.

Iran’s Ahmadinejad Blames Jews For Erectile Dysfunction

Mahmoud-AhmadinejadIran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad blamed Jews today for the “global scourge of erectile dysfunction.”

In a speech broadcast on state television, the Islamic firebrand claimed an international Jewish cabal is provoking male impotence though chemicals in bottled water and then making billions by treating the syndrome with pharmaceutical drugs like Viagra.

In the middle of one of his more typical rants against Israel, the United States, and global Zionism, Ahmadinejad unveiled his latest conspiracy theory.

“One of the most insidious new methods of global Zionist oppression is the effort to sap the life-forces of non-Jews around the world,” he thundered.

“According to my closest advisers, almost 95 percent of Iranian men now have difficulty achieving and maintaining an erection. I have to admit that on very rare occasions, I have had such trouble myself, despite my legendary virility.

“Clearly we see the work of the Zionists in this situation. Why else would good Muslim and Christian men everywhere be suffering this embarrassing lack of manly function?”

The Chicago Tribune is reporting that Jeremiah Wright’s daughter has allegedly been a naughty little money launderer, and if true, it would appear as though her chickens are coming home to roost.

Jeri Wright, 47, faces two counts of money laundering, two counts of making false statements to officers and seven counts of giving false grand jury testimony. She couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.

Federal prosecutors in the Illinois’ central district say Jeri Wright received about $28,000 in grant-tied paychecks in 2009, but $20,000 of that was deposited back into accounts controlled by Evans. Prosecutors also say Wright then lied to officers and a grand jury.

McConnell accuses Kentucky liberal PAC of bugging campaign headquarters

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Tuesday accused a Kentucky Democratic super-PAC of bugging his campaign office and asked the FBI to investigate.

McConnell lashed out at the group Progress Kentucky after the release of a recording from a Feb. 2 meeting between the senator and his aides in which they debate the merits of attacking actress Ashley Judd’s mental health, views on religion and attitudes about family.

“As I indicated, last month they were attacking my wife’s ethnicity, and apparently also bugging my headquarters, much like Nixon and Watergate,” McConnell said to reporters on Tuesday.

“That’s what the political left does these days.”

Photo - Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, the Tea Party favorite and emerging 2016 GOP presidential star, on Wednesday showed he is looking to broaden his and the Republican Party’s base far beyond white males to include African-American youths.

In a speech to Howard University Wednesday morning, Paul reached out to blacks, arguing that the Democrats and President Obama has failed African Americans, but admitting that the GOP has a long way to go before blacks see Republicans as their guide to success.

“Some have said that I’m either brave or crazy to be here today. I’ve never been one to watch the world go by without participating. I wake up each day hoping to make a difference,” said Paul. “I come to Howard today, not to preach, or prescribe some special formula for you but to say I want a government that leaves you alone, that encourages you to write the book that becomes your unique future.”

Social conservatives warn Priebus they could abandon GOP

A group of high-profile social conservatives warned Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus in a letter this week that their supporters could abandon the GOP if the party seeks to change its position on social issues, particularly same-sex marriage.

Thirteen social conservatives, representing various influential groups, wrote Priebus ahead of the RNC’s quarterly meeting this week in Los Angeles to sternly rebuke the conclusions of a post-election report that advised Republican elected officials to adopt a softer tone toward social issues.

“We respectfully warn GOP Leadership that an abandonment of its principles will necessarily result in the abandonment of our constituents to their support,” concludes the letter, which was obtained by and independently verified by NBC News in advance of the meeting this week.

The letter further asks GOP committeemen to pass a resolution at their meeting this week re-affirming the party’s 2012 national platform, which includes language calling for bans on abortion and same-sex marriage.

1980s Nostalgia: Poll Finds Reagan Beats Obama in a Landslide

Ronald Reagan, shown in his office when he was president, would win if he ran against Barack Obama, a new poll shows.

President Obama has been struggling to push his agenda through Congress and boost his popularity, but now there is another bit of bad news for him to chew on: A poll indicates that Obama would lose an election to Ronald Reagan, the champion of conservatism, if such a choice were possible today. And it would be a landslide.

Fifty-eight percent of Americans would choose Reagan, according to a survey conducted by Kelton Research for the National Geographic Channel. Reagan, a Republican who won the elections of 1980 and 1984, would even capture 51 percent of voters aged 18 to 34, even though young people were a key constituency for Democrat Obama in 2008 and 2012.

IRS claims it can read your e-mail without a warrant (Communism Is Here)

The IRS continued to insist on warrantless e-mail access, internal documents obtained by the ACLU show, even after a federal appeals court said the Fourth Amendment applied.

The Internal Revenue Service doesn’t believe it needs a search warrant to read your e-mail.

Newly disclosed documents prepared by IRS lawyers say that Americans enjoy “generally no privacy” in their e-mail, Facebook chats, Twitter direct messages, and similar online communications — meaning that they can be perused without obtaining a search warrant signed by a judge.

That places the IRS at odds with a growing sentiment among many judges and legislators who believe that Americans’ e-mail messages should be protected from warrantless search and seizure. They say e-mail should be protected by the same Fourth Amendment privacy standards that require search warrants for hard drives in someone’s home, or a physical letter in a filing cabinet.

An IRS 2009 Search Warrant Handbook obtained by the American Civil Liberties Union argues that “emails and other transmissions generally lose their reasonable expectation of privacy and thus their Fourth Amendment protection once they have been sent from an individual’s computer.” The handbook was prepared by the Office of Chief Counsel for the Criminal Tax Division and obtained through the Freedom of Information Act.

Rush Limbaugh Left Off ’35 Most Powerful People in Media’ List…AGAIN

Published on: April 11, 2013

Rush Limbaugh is the most listened to talk radio host in America.

Yet for at least the second year in a row, he’s been left off the Hollywood Reporter‘s “35 Most Powerful People in Media” list.

Those that made the list include MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski, Rachel Maddow, and Joe Scarborough.

Are these three folks really more powerful than Limbaugh?

Apparently so are Stephen Colbert, Anderson Cooper, Bob Costas, Katie Couric, Jimmy Fallon, Piers Morgan, Kelly Ripa, Howard Stern, Michael Strahan, Jon Stewart, Wendy Williams, and Anna Wintour.

These folks are all more powerful than the most listened to radio host in the nation? Really?

Also curious is the absence of Fox News’s Bret Baier and Greta Van Susteren who both have better ratings than all of the MSNBCers on this list as well as the CNNers.

It therefore would be interesting to find out what THR considers powerful.

Alan Grayson: Obama’s budget “could end up dragging down the entire party”

Published on: April 11, 2013

That’s what Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Fla., said in a press call today hosted by the Progressive Change Campaign Committee regarding the president’s new budget proposal.

The call, which also featured Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., was intended to be a warning to the administration to back away from the budget’s modest entitlement reforms. Grayson argued they could doom the party by undercutting its rhetoric on entitlements:

Based upon the budget the Republicans submitted, the [Paul] Ryan budget, it was pretty clear up until this point that the Republicans were the party in favor of cutting Social Security, cutting Medicare, cutting Medicaid, and the Democrats were the party against it.

Now, with the president’s proposal, we face the threat that we will be stigmatized as the party that kind-of is for it and kind-of is against it, kind of depending on circumstances. Kind of, kind of, kind of…

Asked by the Daily Beast’s Lloyd Grove if they thought the president’s budget was an effort at Bill Clinton-style triangulation, Ellison conceded that maybe that was the case  – as he put it: “ the president is going to the center, counting on us to be loud on the left” — but that liberals like himself had no choice but to oppose it anyway.

Obama’s budget based on bad math, phantom revenues, imagined cuts and a middle-class tax hike

Seeing things differently: House Speaker John Boehner won't like what President Barack Obama has to say about the federal budget on Wednesday

The Obama administration released an outline of its fiscal 2014 budget today promising that the president’s budget ‘reduces the deficit and puts the Nation on a sound fiscal course.’

‘Every new initiative in the plan is fully paid for, so they do not add a single dime to the deficit,’ the White House pledges.

An initial walk through the budget proposals released overnight to reporters, however, suggests that Republicans in Congress will need some convincing.

The budget will hit congressional offices less than 24 hours after the government’s top watchdog agency declared that nearly $100 billion was wasted last year in duplicative and overlapping programs stretching into every corner of the Washington bureaucracy.

The star attraction of Tuesday’s Capitol Hill hearing on the subject was the tale of three separate government agencies that spend money inspecting catfish, and the annual waste of $14 million that goes along with it.

House Republicans in the oversight committee hearing room were not amused. And GOP budget hawks won’t be smiling when they read a prominent declaration in the White House’s outline that has already been shown to be an exaggeration.

The budget, it says, ‘would achieve $1.8 trillion in additional deficit reduction over the next 10 years, bringing total deficit reduction to $4.3 trillion. This represents more than enough deficit reduction to replace the cuts required by the Joint Committee [on] sequestration.’

Collecting taxes, dispensing fear – Intimidation is the coinage of today’s IRS

Do you think you receive fair value for the money you spend on taxes? The fact is you don’t, because there is excessive corruption in both the way your tax money is collected and in the way it is spent. Many countries are notorious for the tax collectors being “on the take.” At the federal level, it is rare for an Internal Revenue Service agent to put his hand out, but that does not rule out considerable corruption.

The corruption starts with Congress. Members of Congress “buy votes” by handing out “free stuff.” It includes expenditures on programs that few, if any, congressmen would spend their own money on, plus programs that are filled with waste and fraud that go on year after year (e.g., studies have shown that Medicare and Medicaid misspend up to a third of their budgets). Members of Congress also buy campaign contributions by proposing and voting for expenditures that reward certain companies, industries, and unions Solyndra and the General Motors bailout come to mind. This kind of buying of votes and campaign contributions goes on in most democracies. The United States may be the world’s leader in vote and contribution buying through special provisions in the tax code.

It is not hard to figure out why the members of the House Ways and Means Committee and the Senate Finance Committee, the two tax-writing committees, tend to receive much larger campaign contributions than others who sit on less influential committees.
